Who Are The Candidates?
I claim to be an ardent Nigerian politics follower but I do not know any of the candidates running for office today. Yes, I have seen the posters of Ransome Kuti, RemiTinubu and others but I actually do not know them, their plans, their present, future or past. Not good.
The emphases we have put on the center is not healthy for real development. The President or Governor cannot by themselves develop Nigeria. They need the other tiers of government to function properly.
I believe this time will be the last we will overlook such important elections. I am actually in support for staggering the legistlative election i.e having them in a different year so we can focus on them and avoid having clowns in the National Assembly
Todays elcetions are more or less a test run for what will happen next weekend. A test for INEC, Nigerians, Police, Political Parties, etc.
The outcome of what happens today will also determine the CPC - ACN alliance. From what I have heard, the party who wins the most seats will chose the President of the alliance, while the other party will lead the National Assembly
May the best party win.
As for me, by 11am I will take a stroll to my polling unit, armed with my camera I hope the IG Hafiz Rigging has talked sense into his boys.
